LES PROSTITUÉES DE LYON PARLENT – Carole Roussopoulos

ONLINE ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15 FROM 8 AM AND FOR 24 HOURS

LES PROSTITUÉS DE LYON PARLENT, 1975, Carole Roussopoulos, 46 min

In the spring of 1975, some two hundred women prostitutes take over the Saint-Nizier church in Lyon. Laughing or fearful in front of Carole Roussopoulos’ camera, or clumsily hidden, they testify as “women and mothers” to demand that cease the police, fiscal and social harassment they are victims of. Outside the church, video monitors broadcast the debate for passers by, mainly men.
